There are parallels in business and in life where the two intersect. People want to know who they are doing business with, because at the end of the day, the client is really buying you.
I’m a firm believer that relationships are our biggest asset. When I founded Global Merchant Partners, it was in response to an industry that treated people as little more than dollar signs. GMP was created to be something different: a merchant services company that would offer transparency and fair rates, and would actually educate its clients, not just try to sell them something. We know that while the payment processing needs of each business may vary, one thing remains constant: the critical need to increase earnings. We work with everyone from chambers of commerce, trade groups, multi-location restaurant chains, lawyers, doctors, nonprofits, to e-commerce companies to increase gross profits and retained earnings.
Strong relationships with customers has been a core value in all of my companies, beginning with a dealership for IBM business equipment and continuing on into Guinn Associates Inc., an insurance agency that ranked in the insurance industry’s Million Dollar Round Table. I have served on the board for Special Olympics, MADD, YMCA Delaware, and several other nonprofits.
